A worn suspension system does not just ride rough — it affects brake performance, accelerates tire wear, stresses the frame, and creates out-of-service violations at DOT inspections. Cracked or missing leaves, worn bushings, loose U-bolts, and king pin wear are all conditions inspectors look for. Leaf spring, air ride, and walking beam suspensions

We service suspension systems on Class 4 through Class 8 commercial trucks operating in the Charleston area. This includes multi-leaf spring suspensions common on medium-duty and older heavy-duty trucks, air ride suspensions on newer Class 8 trucks and some Class 5–6 medium-duty platforms, and tandem rear walking beam suspensions used on vocational heavy-duty trucks. Leaf Spring Inspection & Repair

Cracked main leaves, broken springs, missing leaves, worn spring eyes, and loose or missing U-bolts are all DOT out-of-service violations and safety hazards. We inspect, document, and repair leaf spring assemblies on-site or direct you to the appropriate shop resource when full replacement is needed.

Air Ride Suspension

Air bag leaks, height control valve faults, damaged shock absorbers, and air line issues on air ride suspensions cause uneven ride height, tire wear, and handling issues. Air ride diagnosis includes pressure testing, height sensor function, and valve operation.

King Pin Inspection

King pin wear on steer axles causes loose steering, pulling, and uneven tire wear. We measure king pin play against specification and document whether wear is within serviceable limits or requires replacement. King pin condition is a standard DOT inspection item.

Tie Rods & Steering Linkage

Worn tie rod ends, drag link wear, and steering arm looseness cause loose or pulling steering and are checked at every DOT inspection. We inspect, measure, and document steering linkage condition on-site.

Wheel Bearings

Loose or failing wheel bearings cause heat buildup, tire wear, and eventual wheel separation if left unaddressed. Bearing play is checked by rocking the tire at 9 and 3 o'clock and 6 and 12 o'clock positions — excessive movement indicates worn bearings or loose adjustment.

Frame & Crossmember

Cracked frame rails, damaged crossmembers, and loose frame fasteners are DOT out-of-service violations. Visual and physical frame inspection is part of our full chassis inspection service.
